Disney+ subscribers in the United Kingdom and Ireland will be able to watch Channel 4 without switching apps from early 2027, under a deal announced on 27 October. The broadcaster’s live HD channel and hundreds of hours of programmes will join the service at no extra cost to existing subscribers.
The agreement goes beyond a shelf of familiar box sets. Selected new Channel 4 shows will arrive on Disney+ on the same day they launch through the broadcaster, including Maya, the witness-protection thriller starring Bella Ramsey and Daisy Haggard.
Haggard also writes and directs Maya, about a mother and daughter forced into new identities. Comedy Stepping Up and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins are also named among the simultaneous releases. The catalogue will include Big Mood, Tip Toe and 24 Hours in A&E.
Channel 4 will have its own branded section inside Disney+, putting British public-service television alongside the streamer’s existing films and series.
An exact launch date and the full programme selection are still to come.
