International film financier and producer Jack Christian has concluded six years on the board, including three as chair, of the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), whose president is Russell Crowe.
Christian championed Australian film and television on the world stage, helping to bring international attention to Australian stories and the talent behind them. His tenure also saw him secure the organisation’s largest partnership deals and strengthen its platform for promoting Australian screen excellence.
The AACTA Awards’ move to the Gold Coast and the creation and growth of the AACTA Festival and Screen Careers Expo broadened the organisation’s platform for celebrating Australian screen excellence, connecting leading talent with audiences and supporting the next generation of filmmakers.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together. It’s been a privilege to help strengthen the organisation, build major partnerships and create a broader platform for Australian screen talent, both at home and internationally,” Christian said.
