Connor Storrie is in talks to play a villain opposite Ryan Gosling in Marvel’s Ghost Rider, taking the Heated Rivalry breakout towards a very different kind of screen rivalry.

The negotiations emerged on 27 October, with Storrie’s potential character still under wraps. Shawn Levy is directing the supernatural feature, which is reportedly being lined up for a 2028 release.

Levy and Gosling have already worked together on Star Wars: Starfighter, due in cinemas in May 2027. The director’s previous Marvel outing was Deadpool & Wolverine, giving him experience balancing an outsized comic-book character with a recognisable star.

For Storrie, the possible move follows his lead role as Russian hockey player Ilya Rozanov in Heated Rivalry. Created by Jacob Tierney from Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novels, the Canadian series pairs him with Hudson Williams as rival player Shane Hollander. Their on-ice competition gives way to a secret relationship stretching across years.

Ghost Rider would bring another version of Marvel’s supernatural antihero to the big screen after the Nicolas Cage films. This time, Gosling would have a new rival to contend with if Storrie’s deal comes together.
