Amy Poehler is swapping municipal bureaucracy for archaeological office politics. Peacock has released the first trailer for DIG, a comedy that sends the Parks and Recreation star to Greece with Hugh Laurie and a team whose biggest obstacle may be its own boss.
Poehler plays Elise, an experienced archaeologist hoping for a promotion. Laurie is Neville, the long-serving head of the excavation who has no intention of retiring. A rare find gives Elise and three other women an opportunity to do something rather more interesting than wait for him to move on.
They decide to excavate it themselves instead of reporting the discovery to Neville. That choice draws them into a conspiracy in which they are followed and photographed. Suddenly, a difficult colleague is not their only problem.
Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas and Fina Strazza join Poehler in the ensemble. The series reunites her with Parks and Recreation co-creator Michael Schur, with the pair adapting Kate Myers’s novel Excavations.
All 10 episodes arrive together on Peacock in the US on 23 November.
