Nobody Wants This is coming back for a fourth season. Netflix has renewed the Kristen Bell and Adam Brody romantic comedy, giving Joanne and Noah more time to negotiate a relationship that has never lacked outside opinions.
Created by Erin Foster, the series began with an outspoken, agnostic podcaster falling for a newly single rabbi. Bell’s Joanne and Brody’s Noah had to contend with different beliefs, competing expectations and families with plenty to say about the match.
The third season moved their relationship into a more settled phase as they set up home together. Its focus widened from the thrill of falling in love to the everyday decisions involved in building a shared life.
In season three, their relatives have hardly settled down alongside them. Noah’s brother Sasha, played by Timothy Simons, and his estranged wife Esther, played by Jackie Tohn, re-enter the dating world separately. Joanne’s sister Morgan, played by Justine Lupe, is pushing her media career forward while her connection with Sasha grows more complicated.
Foster continues as showrunner alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan. The trio welcomed another season of “our favorite show on television, which coincidentally is the one we run”.
Season four will film in Los Angeles. The third season is streaming now on Netflix, which has not yet announced a premiere date for the next instalment.
