Mary Bennet is settling into married life, but her past is about to knock on the door. New images from The Other Bennet Sister’s Christmas specials reunite Ella Bruccoleri and Dónal Finn as newlyweds Mary and Tom Hayward.
The BBC released the second set of pictures on Thursday, after production wrapped in Wales. The three half-hour episodes continue Mary’s story beyond the first series, which ended with her agreeing to marry Tom.
Now she must work out who she wants to be as Mrs Hayward, just as an unexpected visitor turns up needing her help.
Ruth Jones returns as Mrs Bennet, alongside Tanya Reynolds as Caroline Bingley and Laurie Davidson as Mr Ryder. Nerys Amber Stocks joins the cast as Lucy, the Haywards’ housekeeper.
Sarah Quintrell has written all three specials from storylines by Janice Hadlow, whose novel puts Pride and Prejudice’s often-overlooked middle sister at the centre of the story. Asim Abbasi returns to direct.
Bad Wolf produces the specials for the BBC and BritBox North America. They will air this Christmas on BBC One and iPlayer in the UK, with BritBox carrying them in the US and Canada.
