The Remarried Empress has turned a royal divorce into a streaming milestone. Disney says the Korean fantasy romance delivered the most-watched local-original premiere ever across Disney+ and Hulu globally, measured over its first three days.

The company announced the record on November 6, following the series’ November 3 launch. It also ranked as the platforms’ biggest Korean-title premiere in more than 50 markets, including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Britain and Canada.

No audience total was released. The record covers local-original premieres over that opening window, rather than the platforms’ entire catalogues or lifetime viewing.

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’s Shin Mina plays Navier, empress of the Eastern Empire. When her husband falls for another woman and asks for a divorce, she agrees on one condition: permission to marry a rival kingdom’s crown prince. Palace diplomacy suddenly becomes very personal.

Ju Jihoon plays Emperor Sovieshu, Lee Jongsuk is Crown Prince Heinrey and Lee Seyoung plays Rashta. The drama adapts a Naver webtoon with nearly three billion views.

The launch arrived a day ahead of its original schedule, with four episodes released together. Two more episodes follow each Wednesday from November 11, with the finale on November 25. The series streams on Disney+ internationally and on Disney+ and Hulu in the United States.
