Brittany O’Grady will star in State of Emergency, a Boston-set thriller from House of the Dragon director Greg Yaitanes, Deadline reports.

The White Lotus actor plays Jenna, a 911 dispatcher returning to work while grieving her teenage brother. She missed his call in his final moments, and that loss follows her into an overnight shift.

Then callers begin reporting strange incidents connected to Boston Harbor. As the danger reaches the emergency call centre, Jenna finds herself caught in a catastrophe spreading through the city.

FilmNation is taking the project to the American Film Market through its genre label Infrared Pictures. Nick Luddington, whose credits include Arcane, wrote the screenplay.

Infrared is financing and producing the film alongside Sam Brown and Dustin Thomason’s Curiosity Media. Filming is expected to begin in 2027.

Yaitanes also directed Presumed Innocent and won an Emmy for House. O’Grady’s recent work includes Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite; she also appears in the upcoming Jumanji: Open World.
