Amazon MGM has reportedly acquired international streaming rights to A24’s fantasy-game adaptation Elden Ring, adding a major buyer to Alex Garland’s film ahead of the American Film Market.
The agreement covers pay-one rights in several international markets, meaning the first streaming window after the film’s cinema release. It concerns that post-theatrical window, rather than worldwide theatrical distribution.
Garland is writing and directing the adaptation of FromSoftware’s fantasy game, with Kit Connor leading a cast that includes Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce and Nick Offerman.
Bandai Namco and A24 previously confirmed a March 3, 2028 theatrical release and that the film would be made for IMAX. The game’s world combines Hidetaka Miyazaki’s direction with mythology written by George R. R. Martin, who is also among the film’s producers.
For A24, the reported agreement adds a streaming partner as the project heads into the international market.
